Clean, degrease and dry the surface thoroughly before positioning the mat. Once it's in place, press down on the mat and check to see whether the suction cups have properly adhered. Be sure to rinse away soap residue after bathing or showering since a build-up of soap can defeat even the best anti-slip mat and make this slippery.
